The magic pill

A very wise friend posed this question to me:

If someone told you that there was a magic pill that you could take that would make you happier every day, but the catch is that you have to wait in line at CVS (or your local pharmacy) for 2 hours each month, would you do it?

That magic pill is meditation. Split those 2 hours across 30 days, and it’s about 8 minutes of meditation a day, the magic pill that will make you happier. Framed this way, it’s a no brainer that you’d take the pill, yeah? A magic pill is easy, effortless, and instantaneous whereas the thought of meditation feels daunting. .

But nevertheless, yes. I would 100% absolutely take this magic pill. And I’m going to start now.
